Strathmore Foods began production in 1973, making Scotch pies and the famous Forfar Bridies in handy frozen packs. Owned by Colin Nisbet and Colin Muir, the business went on to expand with the production of a wide range of frozen traditional Scottish foods.
With the acquisition of the McIntosh brand in 2003, the company has expanded into the chilled food sector with great success.
In 2003, the McIntosh of Dyce brand, known for its chilled Scottish meals, was re-launched by Strathmore as McIntosh, with new look branding, a refreshed range and improved nutrition.
In 2005, Strathmore's Countryside range underwent its most recent major re-branding and re-packaging, to reflect the company's updated approach and nutritional improvements.
Strathmore Foods today benefits from a second generation of management with Project Managers Julie Nisbet and Gillian Muir, who maintain the company's focus on innovation and meeting customer needs, while ensuring Strathmore remains a local, family-run private business in keeping with its original values.
Today Strathmore Foods is proud to be one of Scotland's biggest producers of delicious pies, meals and snacks using traditional Scottish recipes that appeal to all the family.
