Role Overview

About the role

We have a great opportunity available for candidates with the required skills to apply for the role of Backshift Hygiene Operative.

This post is responsible for contributing to the efficient running of the department whilst providing support to the other members of the team to achieve production requirements.

Main Purpose of The Role

To ensure that all Hygiene cleaning schedules are completed in accordance with the Hygiene standards

To ensure that all planned jobs are carried out on time and in accordance with Cleaning Instruction Cards. Cleaning duties will require to be performed over all departments (including the wash bays) and, when on day shift, on online production equipment

To work safely with detergents and disinfectants to improve cleaning performance.

Core Characteristics of Employment Will Require

Demonstrate high personal hygiene standards

Understand and appreciate the reasons for, and the hazards of, working with cleaning chemicals, including the basic microbiology and science behind chemicals

Be able to work independently

Be prepared to work in busy environment

Be able to inspect machines and re-clean when needed

Demonstrate attention to detail

Be able to sign off cleaning jobs according to schedule

Attend any training required

Ensure compliance with employee responsibilities for Health and Safety, as stipulated in the company’s Health and Safety policy and Employment Handbook

Must be able to work the Saturday rota

Dayshift (holiday cover) and one Saturday per month

Hourly Rate: £9.60 (Living Wage)

Standard Working Hours

 

Expected hours of work examples for reference and should you not be able to work within expected times application will be rejected.

Production start times are between 4am and 7am on occasions we may run a back shift, and our Hygiene department work a back shift 5pm – 2.30am.

The working pattern will be agreed on a weekly basis, by the company.
